Consultations for Shortenills Specialist Provision

Shortenills Specialist Provision operates across three sites: Shortenills Abbey, Shortenills Forest and Shortenills House. Our provision is for young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) whose primary need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

All consultations for Shortenills Specialist Provision must be received directly from the Local Authority (LA). We are unable to accept referrals directly from schools, parents or carers.

Once a consultation has been received, our consultaions team will carefully consider the information provided and assess whether we are able to meet the young person’s needs. Where we believe our provision may be suitable, we will contact the family to arrange an assessment tour at the appropriate site.

To protect the wellbeing, privacy and learning of the young people already attending our provision, we are unable to offer visits to parents or carers before an assessment tour has been arranged.

Following the assessment tour and consultation process, we will provide our response directly to the Local Authority. The Local Authority will then communicate the outcome to the parent or carer.
